Dis.co participated at Packet’s annual customer event, IFX2019, which was held in December in Las Vegas. Since the conference was held simultaneously with AWS re:Invent it was convenient for customers to attend both events. The program content was centered around the intersection of hardware, networks, and software with the people who are creating tomorrow’s technology and forging new kinds of partnerships.

As a Packet industry partner, Dis.co used the opportunity to showcase the connection between Packet’s bare metal server hardware solution and Dis.co’s software solution for enabling the fast execution of high-compute tasks. Attendees heard from Dis.co’s Founder and CEO, Avi Barliya during his keynote session and Developer Evangelist, Raymond Lo during his Technical Talk. Developers and other attendees stopped by the Code Lab to learn more and test drive running their jobs on Dis.co.

Serverless on Bare Metal

Avi Barliya’s keynote – Enjoying Both Worlds. Serverless on Bare Metal. – was focused on why today’s companies are moving to serverless on bare metal. Avi shared use cases to explain how using the combined solution of serverless and bare metal helps companies hyper-scale their infrastructure.

Will it Blender?

Attendees at Raymond Lo’s Technical Talk – Dis.co + Packet IFX Lighting Talk: Will it Blender? – saw a demo of just how fast image rendering can be completed. He built a video rendering farm using Blender, Dis.co, and Packet – in less than ten minutes. Check out the presentation video to see how simple it is to parallelize and accelerate compute-intensive workloads such as AI model optimization and video processing.

It was great to meet many Packet customers and introduce them to the combined power of Packet bare metal servers and the Dis.co serverless solution. To learn more about the easiest and most efficient way to scale your compute power, sign up for a free Dis.co account and take your own test-drive.
